Great registry tweak to enable policy restrictions on a Pocket PC
Source: Jenneth.info
This is something that I just recently came across and wasn't aware of. Did you know that you can set policy restrictions on a Pocket PC 2002 device? Follow the steps below. Basically this prevents users from downloading and installing new programs through Pocket Internet Explorer, Inbox, File Explorer, Active Sync or through beaming or renaming files. I wonder if this also works on alternative file explorers, like Resco Explorer 2003? So you could, for example, transfer a program onto a storage card, open it via Resco Explorer 2003, and run it from there? No idea, but feel free to try this at home kids! Perfect for those who deploy Pocket PCs in the workplace (but not so good for the employees who receive it!)
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\AdminPassword\
Rename the "Redirect" value to "xRedirect"
Soft reset and go to Start > Settings > System tab > Policy applet to set the policy restriction on the device.
