Vote For Me!
I am new to this site and don't really know what to do on here but....
I will post my experiences last weekend using my wi-fi connection.
I stayed at the Homewood Suites. The Wi-Fi is free and picks up easily in the rooms as well as the public areas. I wanted to test the limits of my new X30 to see if I could be truly mobile.
At first all I could do in the hotel was http AKA web surfing. I couldn't pop my mail, I couldn't use AIM, I couldn't do anything other than http w/o scripting

So, I called the tech support for the hotel's wi-fi. They didn't know what I was talking about of course.....so I said nevermind after explaining open ports, etc...
When I came back from going out it was magically fixed. Not sure why or how but it worked. I could pop my mail, use Instant Messenger and go to web pages.
The only problem that I had was that I couldn't send mail because I didn't have the SMTP address of the hotel. So, I came up with a cunning plan. I went to the hotel's computer (desktop PC) and dowloaded a copy of PocketPutty onto my memory card and was then able to SSH into my shell account at school and sent mail out from there. PocketPutty is sweet!

Things I WISH the X30 could do:
1. Install programs without needing another computer. I WISH you could install using the SD memory card.
2. Come with a browser that does something. If you want to be mobile, you should at least be able to check your bank account and pay some bills. but NO...the Pocket Internet Explorer is nothing but a viewer.
Mozilla PLEASE come up with something good!
3. I WISH that Targus would make an X30 driver for their Universal IR Keyboard:

Targus makes the greatest keyboards. Come on guys...catch up!
That is about it for my wishes now. Maybe I will come up with more soon.
Pocket FTP?
Pocket web editor?
Anyway.....I want to win something!!! I never win anything
