Troubleshooting ActiveSync
By RommelS
As of late, Aximusers.com members have been experiencing problem synchronizing their Dell Axim through ActiveSync. When a member posts a synchronization problem, we rush to post replies asking questions like “have you done a soft reset?” or “did you upgrade to ActiveSync 3.6?” The quick solutions might sometimes work, but none of those recommendations really provides a clear-cut solution, especially if the problems persist. It is so easy to blame ActiveSync when trouble appears. We all assume that ActiveSync is causing the trouble - even after a soft reset of the device fails to resolve the problem.
Forum like Aximusers.com might not be able to solve your entire problem at once when problem starts to happen. To troubleshoot ActiveSync requires a great deal of understanding. You might also be surprise to know that the problem could be originating from your PC's configuration, to software conflict, and even MS Outlook. To understand ActiveSync, I have provided a couple of links below for you to read. I am also hoping that the articles will be able to assist you with your problems.
In my opinion, ActiveSync is a great program. It is free, you get free upgrades, and it is the only easy to use conduit for Outlook. In fact, I have four partnerships with my ActiveSync because I have four different Pocket PCs, and none of them has caused me any problems.
