This session explores how to develop Pocket PC 2002 applications with the .NET Compact Framework and Smart Device Extensions for Visual Studio.NET. We were able to create the .NET Framework in a compact form on Pocket PC 2002 devices to provide features like smart memory management and garbage collection on these portable devices. We’ll examine the differences between the .NET Compact Framework and the .NET Framework. In the course you’ll learn how to create applications using the powerful new Visual Studio.NET integrated development environment as well as interactively debug your application using the new Pocket PC 2002 emulator. Along the way you’ll find out the differences between embedded basic (eVB) and VB.NET as well as how to use any supported .NET language to develop Pocket PC solutions. We’ll also look at how to interact with Web Services from your .NET Compact Framework applications.
