Parking Enforcement Goes High Tech In Taupo
Source: XtraMSN.co.nz
Parking officers with the Taupo District Council have been issued with the latest technology to do their job.
The council is introducing high tech pocket PC's, with belt slung printers, for their parking enforcement officers.
The printer issues the ticket at the touch of a button, and the tiny PC automatically downloads the information to the council's central computer system.
Parking officers will also be equipped with small digital cameras to collect data for evidence.
District council information technology officer Sharon Souren says the new portable system offers greater efficiency for staff.
