Microsoft to offer Windows CE code

Microsoft's counterattack against open-source Linux software will open a new front late Wednesday.
The software giant will announce a program to make its Windows CE operating software code for tiny computers more accessible, said an analyst who was briefed by Microsoft. In a Wednesday conference call, Craig Mundie, Microsoft chief technology officer, is scheduled to describe how CE could be more appealing to companies that make single-function machines such as assembly-line controllers.
