Two newbie questions...
Just learning here - 2 questions:
I'm trying to sync my Axim to both my laptop and desktop - works fine with the laptop - now I"m trying to sync my outlook messages/calendar/contacts with the desktop - it wont sync. Activesync says that you cant sync to 2 comps, except if you are using Outlook and sync'ing .pst files - but it wont do it ... whats the secret?
Also - I have my calendar sync'd to the pda - but my appointments don't show up on the calendar. If I click on a date, the appointments are there, but the blocks dont show up to indicate that you have something on a given day when I look at the week or month calendar...
TIA

What version of activesync are you using ???
It is best to upgrade to Activesync 4.5 which is free to download from Microsoft.
During the set up, AS will ask if you wish to sync with only one or 2 computers. You need to make sure you select the option to sync with more than one and also make sure that during set up you give the connection a unique name. Next make sure that under tools > options that you have selected to sync the PDA in the correct fashion.
Finally, I see you have not includede details of what axim you are using. This is important as the operating systems are slightly different. However, you should be able to see appointments in all but the year view, providing under options on the PDA you have selected to show "all appointments". The alternative is to show just "business" or "No categories", which can clearly give a different result.

Thanks Drifter,
I'm using AS 4.2 - will upgrade to 4.5 as you suggest. I cant find a place in AS to change settings to synch with 2 computers - maybe I'll get that option in the setup of the 4.5. Will try that
My Axim is X30, 312 Mhz, 32 RAM, ROM A00. I bought this used and am trying to figure out what I need to do, add, etc. to make it useful for managing my email and synching some data files between the two computers..... any suggestions welcomed.
I have the calendar working now, thanks - now I need to figure out how to sync my data files.

One thing I do note is that you are on ROM A00, the original one from DEll. This is now well out of date and I would strongly advise you to download and install A06.
If anything else, this will improve matters

I managed to upgrade the ROM, as you recommended - thanks. Not sure what it does for me, but I'll learn, I"m sure. What else should I be doing to get this up and running?
Thanks!

Are you saying the ROM update didn't work for you? The Axim should in fact be able to sync with two computers- just not the inbox which is restricted to a single computer. Be careful with your overwrite settings so you don't end up joining the calendar and contacts between two accounts.

The ROM update worked fine - sorry if I misled on that. Its fine.
The settings that you mention - I havent' figured this out yet - are those settings made on the Axim, or in Activesync?

The settings are on your PC's ActiveSync Tools-->Options.
