x51 motorola rzr v3x bluetooth issues
I just spent a frustrating hour and a half on the phone with a technician who in the end said I should try another phone GRRRRR. My internet connection which I'm using to post this is through my motorola phone, and I want to connect my axim using bluetooth to phone to gprs. Technician had nothing specific for axim and motorola, and was using setup tips for HP ipaq. Anyway muddled through, the connection process was straight forward as far as what details needed to be input. Got through all that fine, tried internet explorer phone acknowledged axim, input bluetooth key, axim acknowledged phone, input passkey, Hello connecting, connecting, connecting, notification dialled number no modem present. Anyone got any ideas?

Are you experiencing what others on this thread are? You might be able to dial out if you force your phone to 1x. Details in the link...

I'm not sure, I'm signed up for a capped broad band plan, and that with laptop gives 230 kbps, I mean thats what I'm paying for when the phone is instructed by laptop it just connects through the motorola phonetools program. If any other program starts up, that wants internet access the dial up networking prompt comes up, if you click on connect then you get a dial up error! maybe a similair thing. thanks for the thread I'll connect Dell and see if there are compatability issues and get back. I don't see why my service provider would give me a dial up number if they thought it wouldn't work!

Found something; is there an update 4windows 5.0
Found this at the windows mobile site, I don't get these options when I go to connections!
Set up a modem connection
Before you begin, obtain the following information from your Internet service provider (ISP) or wireless service provider: ISP server phone number or access point, user name, and password.
1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections.2. To create a new connection, in either My ISP or My Work Network, tap Add a new modem connection, and follow the instructions in the New Connection wizard.3. Enter a name for the connection, such as your company's name.4. In the Select a modem list, tap your modem type.
Notes
Wireless connections can be made via a mobile phone network or GPRS. If you are using a mobile phone network to connect, in the Select a modem list, tap Cellular Line. If you are using GPRS, tap Cellular Line (GPRS).If you are using any type of external modem, in the Select a modem list, select the modem by name. If a listing does not exist for your external modem, tap Hayes Compatible on COM1. If you call from a business complex or hotel that requires a nine before dialing out, enter 9 in front of the phone number. You can also do this using dialing rules or dialing locations.If you know that part of the phone number will change frequently as you travel, you can create dialing rules to avoid creating multiple modem connections for the same phone number.If you are using GPRS, instead of a telephone number you will need to enter the access point name provided by your wireless service provider.
I didn't get the red highlighted option at all? I set up another connection using the blue highlighted option and got the same result, same error, dialled number XXXXXX no modem found at this numbertap settings to edit this connection. So is there an update I don't have? Has anyone ever seen the cellular line settings.
Note: when I used the blue option bluetooth turned on automatically.

That option may not be available because you don't have a GPRS device on the Axim. You are using an external modem via a BT COM port. It sounds like your BT configuration is not correct, it could be on the Axim or less likely on the phone. Did you assign the paired device a COM port in your BT settings on the Axim? You should have both devices in discoverable mode when you're initially setting it up so the services are sure to be found. The pair settings on the Axim need to have a COM port and a service assigned to them, and that COM port needs to be specified in the modem settings.

One step back 500 4ward
UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!I went back and deleted all settings on axim even bluetooth pairing with phone, deleted axim from phone, then started from connections/ my ISP/ add new connection. @ modem/ select bluetooth ,made phone discoverable clicked add new partnership on axim partnered with phone, finished the modem settings and viola! I need to use the KISS rule more often. Incredibly simple [me too], humungously frustrating, educational.
LESSON FOR THE DAY. It's always good to start at the beginning.Thanxxxxx, your input much needed and appreciated .
Nb: I posted this from axim

 Hi there...I got totally excited when I read this...thinking "Oh duh, why didn't I think of connecting to internet through my Razr???" And I read through what you did in setting up the pairing and did with my razr & axim...
My Axim & Razr are now paired...now what? I have a data plan, but I can't figure out how to get the Axim online. It keeps asking me for a phone number to dial to make the connection. Huh? why? If my phone can go online, and they're paired, won't the axim just go on line through my phone? Am I forgetting something?
~~~ EDIT ~~~
I found this on the cingular website that has the info you need to connect:
https://www.cingular.com/support/setupOTW.do
I just adapted it to the Axim options...and I'm online!!! Whooo!! omg, there goes my cell phone bill. ::giggle:: this is AWESOME.
