Help with Axim X3

Hello. I have a fellow emplyee here with an Axim X3 that was passed down to her. We are running XP Pro and she installed the software that came with it, I'm sure no updates were done. All was working fine until about 3 days ago. It stopped responding to any screen taps and seemed to be frozen on a contacts screen. I believe that the battery was taken out and swapped with another battery because the user thought the battery was the problem. So now it won't come on. What can we do? Anything, nothing? Just prior to the screen freezing, the one oddity she was having is that new appointments were not synchronizing....

What else can I tell you about our hardware/software that my be beneficial?

Hi, first off you need to do a hard reset , which is to press and hold the power on button and whilst doing so press the reset button.

next when it is working, tap on the windows icon top left and select Settings then system, Nexr select System Information and check the Line that says ROM Version. Make a note of this and check on Dell.com to se if you have the latest version. If not upgrade.

However the hard reset should cure your problem. If not and the screen still freeses, thenmake sure that their is not a screen protector fitted ( remove if their is). If still no joy, then it might just be that it is beyond saving,

Thanks Drifter. The hard reset did allow it to start back up. All the information is lost though, is this correct? The ROM version says A01, so I'm off to Dell to see if that's the latest and greatest.

Yes a hard reset will loose all data, but as the axim was not working this will not have been a problem as you could not access the data.

I think A02 is the newest
