Axim X51V, Pop3 server, Outlook 2002 and synching
Hello everyone,
So far I've been able to access my pop3 server email via Wifi. I just set up the correct incoming and outgoing servers by just going to "new account" (wifi_account) and entering the correct information.
The next thing I did was to add Microsoft ActiveSync 4.2 and Outlook 2002 to my Windows 2000 Desktop. The Axim and Outlook 2002 on the desktop are accessing the same email account.
I was able to synch my desktop Outlook 2002 via the USB cable. Any email that was on my Outlook 2002 on the Windows 2000 Desktop appeared onto my Axim.
However, the Axim seems to think that I have "two email" accounts. My wifi account and my "Outlook 2002" account. The synch from Outlook 2002 goes into one account/files and the email from my wifi_account stay in a seperate set of files (inbox, outbox,, ect).
Moreover, the Outlook 2002 account on my Axim, does not allow me to access email via the wifi, it only wants to connect to Outlook 2002 on the desktop. The "send/receive" selection is only available if I go to my wifi_account.
Is the system suppose to work like this?
I think I just need to configure my Outlook 2002 "account" on the Axim to access both wifi for email and the USB to synch with.
Or configure ActiveSynch to use the "wifi_account" files to update and synch with.
Does this make sense to anyone?
thanks in advance
