OK, I admit I'm a dummy. I have a new X3i as an upgrade from a Palm III. I finally got Notes, Tasks, and Mail to sync from the office, but I cannot get Calendar nor Contacts to download to the X3i. I am sure I'm overlooking something simple but I can't find it. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

In ActiveSync, you can click options, in there you'll see check boxes next to things like calendar, inbox, etc. Make sure that all the things you want to sync are checked there, hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I had those options checked. I should have mentioned that early, but it never hurts to double check.

Well, if you have those options checked then I would probably try deleting the relationship with the desktop pc and establishing it again, this would force a full refresh and hopefully fix the problem, i've heard of others having issues with this, myself, I can not get Files to sync successfully, the files are actually there and appear in sync but it always tells me I have 1 file that is unresolved.

Thanks very much. I did a full delete/reinstall just for grins and giggles. Mail and Avantgo did just fine on the first attempt but even with a new association/profile Contacts and Calendar just refuse to do anything. Beats me, over.

Oops. Forgot to mention that Files sync did just fine as well. Just checked the Files box and did a re-sync. I was able to access an Excel file just like I had good sense.

I had a similar problem, although you may not like the answer.

I could not get my inbox to synchronize with the one on my desktop. I had to perform a backup and then a hard reset to resolve this. Before trying this step I tried:
1. soft reset
2. deleting and recreating the partnership
3. uninstalling and re-installing activesync 3.7.1

In case you are not familiar with this, you should know that all of your data will be erased from the internal memory/storage on the axim. This did not affect any data stored on my SD card. Here is a link the faq page which can tell you how to perform the Hard reset:

To get files to resync I did this:
1. Connected and made a backup of the Axim through ActiveSync.
2. Disconnected the Axim
3. Copied the folder on the desktop where the synced files are stored.
4. Deleted all of the files from the original folder.
5. Connected and synchronized.
6. The files were removed from the Axim at this point, so I copied them back in from the folder created in step 2.
7. Deleted the folder from step 2 once I was satisfied that all of the files had been successfully placed back on the Axim.
8. Emailed mswish@microsoft.com and asked them to create some kind of log file or error message in activesync that will name the file(s) that won't synchronize.

I found a fix to the problem with synchronizing your Axim with Outllook calendar & contacts.
What you need to do is go to "Options" tab in Active Sync.. open up the configure tab on the server settings, uncheck Inbox and Contacts. When this is done uncheck the server box and your Calendar and Contacts will appear in the top box and allow you to check them for synchronization.
After I did this everything synchronized correctly.......
