PPC2002 or 2003?

My Axim X5/300 is currently running PPC2002. I'm considering upgrading, mainly to gain benefit of the purported xscale enhancements and some new applications.

I'm worried I see discussions about CF cards not working, instabilities, etc... I'm suspecting that the upgrade runs fine for most people, but I thought I'd see if this was the case first.

Also, assuming I upgrade, should I flash the ROM to a specific version first?

I just upgraded and frankly don't see much return on my $29. I don't notice any substantial speed and the programs are pretty much the same as PPC2002 with the exception some of my favorites no longer run. My advice is to wait until some bugs are worked out before you make the change.

If you surf the net any, the upgrade is good. It does have some nice features in how it works also. There has been some issues: I have one IR keyboard that doesn't work yet (one that does fine though), I had to do a work around for my WiFi card, and a few other things. Software wise, all of my paid software works fine, most of my newer freeware works fine but some older freeware doesn't.

I found the upgrade to be extremely helpful. I view MPEGs with pocket TV and found significant differences between 2002 and 2003. Just as an example two videos played at 8 fps and 12 fps on 2002, Now those same 2 videos play at 13fps and 20fps. The internet explorer update is also extremely useful esp since I can now check my yahoo accounts without having to use an older version of internet explorer (all of you Pocket PC 2002 users who have wifi and yahoo email accounts know what I mean). These are just a couple of the enhancements I've discovered in my 3 days with Pocket PC 2003...
