Help me get my game on!
Okay heeeeere we go..
I bought an Axim, used, on ebay. It's in pretty darn good shape, digitizer is quite responsive, good action on all the buttons, very tight in some cases.. all but the D-pad. Now, I'm new to the Axim (I have an X-5, with known issues about the D-Pad already). I'm an old hand at Palm handhelds (had 5 over the years).. and on the palm platform, gaming is pretty big.
Anyways, now that I have my Axim, which is a phenominal MP3 player, and a decent movie player (if you downsample the movies).. I find myself somewhat "stuck" with a limited set of games. Thankfully, there are emulators out there, and some really interesting games.
But, as stated previously, the D-pad is crap. But I've got this handy "folding keyboard".. and I was thinking.. wouldn't it be great if I could use this as a gaming controller?
Well I'm having all kinds of trouble assigning the keyboard keys to nearly ANY game controls. And in my fevered mind, frustrated at my inability to clear level 2 of "Super Mario Brothers".. I found myself wondering.. if anyone had created any odd devices, perhaps for actually connecting a modified game controller to the axim.. Or perhaps some method of connecting existing USB game controllers?
I realise, I'm REALLY reaching here... but you seem like the right group of people to ask. Any suggestions for "getting my game on" with the X5? ANyone with experience mapping keys on the Dell keyboard?
Cause otherwise, when I go on trips, I'm going to have to ALSO bring my gameboy.
Save me from having to wear a utility belt.. please?
