Can a sync cable work as DC charger also ?

this is a basic question. I recently got an Axim and promptly lost to the charging cable. My friend in teh US sent a sync cable with the message that it can act as DC charging cable also. When I use it, the Axim works till the cable is connected and then loses all the memory and data. A message does flash that the backup battery is low.
So the question is are there cables that go into the UPS socket but can also charge an Axim's battery? Any ideas ??

I presume when you say "UPS port" you mean "USB port". The factory USB sync cable will only sync, and not charge. You'll need an additional charger to charge your PDA while on the road, etc.

However, there are 3rd pary companies making sync and charge cables for the Axim.

I just purchased this 3 item deal that charges my AXIM in the car or from the USB port on my computer. Check it here Moonlight Technologies.

I have had it a week or so and it works very well, especially the car charger's convenience.

I got the same thing. Worked wonderfully. Now I have the license to abuse the battery power. Cuz I can recharge outside of home or office!

The USB car charger is a must-buy. I am able to charge in my car and take the cable in to the office with me to sync and charge.

I finally broke down & bought a second cradle & have one at work & at home. Also continue to charge in the car & have an extended battery.

When you bought the second cradle, did it come with a charger cord, too? I bought a cradle, and all I got was the cradle. Cust Service didn't have a clue.

I bought the second cradle as well and no charger came with it. i ended up buying a dual ac/car charger for real cheap but would have been nice to have the original charger come with the 2nd cradle.
