Connected with WRT54G & Dell Axim x51, Internet worked for minutes and then shut down

Hello everyone,

A few days ago I bought a new Linksys Wireless G (WRT54G) because I wanted to use my Dell Axim X51 with WiFi.

When I set up everything, my Axim worked fine for 15, 20 minutes tops. The error that I was receiving was that the connection was lost (the funny thing was that the Axim was connected to the router). When I retried to open an Internet page, the Locating status never changed.

I tested the wireless with different laptops and it worked pretty good.

I checked a lot of forums regarding this situation, a lot of them told me to update the linksys firmware, another to set up oddisey client but I was not happy enough with this solutions.

After reading and reading I found out that the problem was pretty simple. Dell Axim x51 in the WLAN window has the option to ENABLE, DISABLE or AUTO a power save mode. The only thing that you need to do is to click on DISABLE Power save mode and the problems that I had (connected to WRT54G but no internet) dissapear (this problem also occur in some old Dell pockets).

Thanks for the post LSD! What ROM were you using with the Axim? Did you have the post-A12 driver rollup package installed?

I am using the standard ROM that the AXIM X51 brings from fabric.

Right now I don't have a PC because the motherboard drop dead after 12 years of use and I'm waiting for my new desktop to arrive and as soon as I can, I'm going to update my ROM... Do you recommend this update??

Thanks for posting the solution. I encountered the same problem on my x51v after upgrading to ROM A12 (06200600) and this fixed it.
