Dell WLAN Utility for X51v while in Cradle
Hi, got a question to see if anyone can give me some advise. I have a new Dell Axim X51v (the 4th new one from Dell) and when trying to connect while in my Cradle, the configuration shows me there but "unavailable" I tap on "connect" but nothing happens, it just sits on "unavailable" If I take the PDA out of the cradle it seems to connect ok and I can use IE without any problems. Seems to me it should work in the cradle as well. Does anyone have any advice? Thank! (I use ActiveSync 4.5 Beta)

Hi Frank, try this on ax, start/programs/activesync, then menu/connections
there's an option When cradled, Synchronise all PCs using this connection, if your wifi connection shows in the dropdown list select it , otherwise uncheck the box, and I think that will do it.

There is a known issue with 4.5 beta where IE doesn't work when the device is cradled. I experienced the same thing before downgrading to 4.2.

Pedah,
Thanks for the good advice. I went to Connections and the box "Synchronize all PCs using this connection" was checked and it showed "USB" available. I unchecked the box, started over and now it seems to run ok when in the cradle. Dell told me to disconnect USB cable! Thanks again, really appreciate it.

Dell WLAN Connection w/Axim X51v
Mahstah,
I have been running AS Beta 4.5 for a while now. I haven't experienced the problems with IE not connecting but I will keep my eyes open just in case! Thanks.

Dell WLAN Utility connecting to Dell Axim X51v
Pedah,
Perhaps I spoke too quickly in my last message to you.. I discovered after I removed the checkmark in "When Cradled", while WLAN utility & IE showed me connected, Microsoft Activesync would NOT connect. Is it because when I unchecked it also removes USB? I use Version 4.5 Beta of Active Sync. I tried a soft reset with negative results. Do you have any ideas how to correct this? Let me know. Thanks! Also when I check it, WLAN shows me available then not connected. Back to Step 1!

Hi Frank, I assumed you were already sinking with wifi before you upgraded to 4.5 that you did not have usb cable connected to PC whilst you did it, if you did you may have been sinking via usb and thinking you were wirelessly sinking, I couldn't sink wirelessly until I set up a VPN. How is your wireless network set up. When I first got ax I used wireless network connection wizard to set up and I got a connected message and no access to the network and it was only unsecure ad hoc computer to computer network. May be Mahstah is the man and 4.2 will fix you up. ?Did it work before you upgraded? ROLLBACK?
