Greetings Ms. A-
The first thing I would check is to make sure your router is not broadcasting in 802.11g only, if it is g only your b card will see the network but never connect. Either mixed b/g or b only will work. Also, confirm all of your wireless profile settings in your 802.11b card's config program by comparing them to your router's configuration. Good luck,

To connnect to the Internet, you need to:
1. Setup your router.
See checklist in Matstah's post.
2. Select the type of connection (MyISP, etc).
Configure your wireless adapter as mentioned by Matstah.
3. If you have enable security in your router, you'll have to enter the encryption/authentication parameters into your Axim.
If you are uncomfortable in any of the above, post here & let us know what you have done (e.g. I've set the WEP key ...).
Good luck.

Does this mean that the wireless is factory internally installed or an add-on card (SD or CF)?
If the wifi is built-in, there will be a Dell WLAN client or Wireless Ethernet item in Start-->Settings-->Connections you should see. If you have an add-on card you should have installed accompanying software that would add its own client to the start menu in Programs or Settings. If the card is an add-on, ensure you have installed the drivers for it.
To check your router configuration, you must know your router's IP address and the username/password to configure it. You can find the IP address using your DESKTOP computer by going to Start-->Run-->cmd and entering ipconfig into the command prompt. The default gateway entry is the router IP, and you can access the router configuration by entering it into Internet Explorer where you will be prompted for the username/password. After logging in you can view your wireless configuration, including whether you are using b, g, or mixed.
Before going through all of that, make sure you have the drivers installed if you are using an add-on card.

Did you fix the wireless? How? Thank you l0l for providing the links.
Both MSN and Hotmail offer POP3 services, but only to people who pay extra for extra storage or internet service through MSN. If you paid for it, they would have sent you POP3 and SMTP server addresses and security and port information.
More info can be found here (Google cache of Expert's Exchange).

Wifi
OK i got to the wifi companion installed and i see all of the percentages and tower numbers (i.e. - 2wire494) and i see that i have 3 bars of signal. Can someone please tell me how to input my connections? I am assuming this is the next step to log onto the internet?
I am on the connections page, do i set up a ISP (modem connection) under the My ISP area, a VPN connection or a proxy server connection or modem connection under the My work network ? Thanks!

I found the user manual for WifiCompanion. It is a pdf file (need Adobe reader).
Your path to the Internet looks like this:
SDIO Adapter -> Router -> Internet
The router is your gateway to the Internet. It's like your door. To get out of your house, you have to go through the door, then to the place called "Internet".
The software that you use is unique to your case. If you let us know what you are doing, then we can guide you. What is this "2wire494"?
Are you trying to connect to a router at home? Do you have a router at home?
Your respond to the above questions will determine how we can help you, or at least point you in the right direction.
If you have a router don't select modem. You see what I mean ... "if".
