I just brought my X5 from a friend for $100 with the Truemobile 1180 card (what a deal!). After Hard-reseting the unit I'm ready to get on line wirelessly but can't find how to do this. I brought this unit mainly to GO ON LINE when I'm out and about because my other PDA (a Sony Clie) doesn't go on-line unless I spend another $100 for an extra add on card which would cost me the same amount that I paided for my new X5. HOW DO I SET IT UP SO THAT I CAN USE POCKET MSN? Occording to the users manual that I downloaded from Dell I'll need my ISP's dial-up access number ( never had it, don't know where to find it! ) My users name and password ( I know that! ) and my TCP/IP setting (what is this?). Help!!!!!!!! :/

You only need the dial up number if you are using a modem, b ut I assume you are going to use wifi.

May be a silly qusetion, but do you have a WiFi router at home??

If you did a ful.l hard reset, then I suspect that when you inset the 1180 cvard, you will get a message saying "Unidentified cartd in socket"

You need to install the 1180 driver ( from Dell.com) onto your x5.

Then select Today screen, Settings, connections and then Dell wlan utility.

To get connected at home, you may need the name of your router.

Most of the connection set up is logical, but first I think you need the driver as CF WiFi cards are not plug and play

also what operating system on your pc/network? do you know if the router has wep settings established?

with most public wifi i don't think wep is an issue.

I think the "accept beams" has to be on in the wireless connections setting.

Accept beams is for Infrared , nothing to do with WiFi
