If you are using the inbuilt messaging feature, tap download message and all attachments, and hit send and receive again, when it's downloaded tap and hold on the attachment and you should get the option to save, then navigate to where you want to save the picture! If you are viewing your email through a browser, tap and hold on the attachment and you should get a prompt to download attachment, say yes and then you should be offered the option to open or save, again choose save and navigate to where you want to save the attachment!
