The result we got from work in my X30, recorded in detail in this thread, was that the screws were too tight. That apparently was causing a short or something. I was used to working with wood instead of electronics in a plastic case, and tightened to the point where I had probably slightly deformed the plastic case. The problem went away immediately when I loosened the screws a little bit.
