Screen Question
Okay folks, you've all helped me out of countless Axim related jams and I can't thank you enough. Now..I've got another!
So. Long story short my previous Axim X51 was bricked and I bought a used one over the weekend. The only problem is the previous user didn't use a screen protector and the screen is pretty scratched up. Enough that you can hear an audible scratching noise in some points as you use the stylus.
I was able to "peel" (this was a very scary thing to do) the top (plastic) layer off of my old Axim screen without damaging the digitizer connector at all. Basically, I just wanted to see if this was possible. My old screen is flawless and I'd like to "peel" off the current scratched up one and replace it with my old one.
What I'm asking is ---- is this even worth it? Of course I run the risk of cracking the LCD, so that's scary. Also, if I'm unable to match the factory seal how likely is it that dust will gather between the plastic and the glass and basically ruin the whole works?
Any thoughts, opinions, or experiences are more than welcome!!!! Thanks guys!
