Very good ideas, but first you should remove the screen protector if there is one and clean between the screen and front chassis with a business card or similar to make sure there isn't any dirt under the front chassis causing a false permanent tap on the screen. Those two problems are the source of many alignment problems, failed digitisers in the screen can also occur.
