well....the links for the images on dommes tutorial did not work so i did what you said and got an update from dell, and opened it with winrar. I used the .img file in the folder labeled ROM for the ROM image(made sense to me) but when I ran it through Hex workshop following the steps outlined in the tutorial on how to make your own images i got to this point--- 4. Select "Edit --> Select Block" from the menu. A dialog will appear, use the following options:
-Block: 21c0000
-Hex
-Size of block
----
when i did that and clicked ok the dialog box remained and nothing happened....so i used the whole file.
for the bootloader I ran the file labled bootloader.exe through hex workshop and everything went as outlined in the tutorial.
I put all four files on my 1gb sd card as instructed and started the flashing process, it displayed one of the files on my axim screen, I clicked the action button and it began to "load" and then stopped saying "checksum error"!!!
This is soo frustrating being so close and not being able to fix it!
