I'm having the same problem. I just got a refurbished X30 and had no choice but to use a replacement battery. It fits. I can't imagine why the battery would be the problem but still ... big coincidence that both these problems involve a replacement battery. Mine happens to be a 2000 mAh Li-ion.
Also ... have problems with Microsoft ActiveSync. I had no choice but to install it (after I plugged X30 in with a power / data cable to charge it, my computer beeped and beeped relentlessly until I installed it) and it seems to work fine, especially give that the X30 isn't working. It connected and I was able to explore the X30 and synchronize Favorites. But it seems to have smashed Bluetooth and Infrared so far as Nokia PC Suite is concerned. I uninstalled ActiveSync and the error messages changed, but it's hidden COM ports and Bluetooth access somehow. Only tip I got from other boards is installation of IVT BlueSoleil Driver and BTDongle ... which looks a whole lot like something that I don't really need. I have installed IVT BlueSoleil Driver but it hasn't fixed the problem. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with BTDongle.
