I too am running Vista Ultimate, WMDC 6.0.6783, and Office 2007. Haven't had a sync problem yet. While your rant about MS is welcome and necessary at times, there is a logical process by which we should be able to get you syncing. It could be a Dell problem and not a MS problem at all- Dell USB Vista drivers, Dell BIOS issue, third party programs, external hardware such as a USB hub- then again you may be correct and it could be a MS problem with your exact combo of hardware.
For starters, have you tried syncing with another computer to determine if the problem exists on the PDA side or on the desktop?
