TomTom can't find GPS on Dell Axim X51V
In my car I have an all-in-one charger/speaker/SIRF3 GPS/PDA holder. The unit has a replaceable adaptor for different PDAs, and so provides a direct wired connection to the PDA rather than using Bluetooth. Until now I used it with an HP Ipaq 5550 (Win Mobile 2003). TomTom 6 was configured to use the 'TomTom Wired GPS receiver' setting. It detected the GPS and worked perfectly.
I just purchased a Dell X51V and a new Axim connector/adaptor for the all-in-one GPS unit. The new connector works OK, as it charges the PDA. TomTom 6 is configured to use 'TomTom Wired GPS receiver', but it refuses to recognise the GPS.
In Win Mobile 5, under Settings, there is an entry called GPS (it does not exist in Win Mobile 2003). The GPS settings include GPS Program Port, GPS Hardware Port and Manage GPS Automatically. Both the Program Port and Hardware Port can be anything between COM0 and COM9.
Does anybody know what GPS settings I should use to get TomTom 6 to recognise my GPS receiver?
