Drifter, thanks a TON!

I had this exact issue with an X5 that was going to be thrown away.

Poped the case, attached the tape, and PRESTO...completely functional PDA.

Thanks again, for the tips?

BTW...

did you come up with this fix from tinkering, or did you find it on some other support site?
