Axim X5 wants to go wireless...upgrade to PPC 2003?
I own a Axim x5 400MHz PDA with the AO4 ROM update. I have had it for a few years, but have used almost exclusively to sync with my laptops Outlook contacts.
I have a broadband connections for my laptop via Cablevision's Optimum Online. Recently I have installed a Linksys wireless g router to my home network so that I can work on laptop without being tethered to my router....but I would really like to use my Axim to connect to the internet. As such, I was thinking of buying a (relatively) cheap Linksys wireless b CF card (WCF12) to connect my Axim to the internet.
Should I call Dell and order the PPC 2003 upgrade? Is PPC 2003 any/much better than PPC 2002? I remember reading when PPC 2003 first came out that the wireless capabilities were more robust, or easier to use, or easier to connect to hotspots...I forget exactly. Anyway, I am not sure if it is worth the money and/or trouble to upgrade.
If I do upgrade, will upgrading to PPC 2003 simply make it more difficult for me to use the wireless card? (I have been told a lot of the drivers for these cards were written for PPC 2002 and they have not been updated to work with later PDA OS).
