Take the motherboard and screen assembly out of the case and plug in the mains adapter. Switch on by operating the microswitch and they nee if you can get past the screen align.
If you cannot get past screen align in this state, check your ribbon cables to make sure they are pushed home fully. If you still cannot get past this, then I'm afraid its time for a new PDA.
If you can get past screen align when the unit is like this it could be that eithr your cable repair needs to be looked a again or something is pressing on the screen
