I just purchased my Dell X51v from Dell. Did not have the problems that you had. Purchased a brand new one on the Wednesday after xmas, and had it in my hands on Friday (with overnight shipping). The only thing that they did not do was to include a screen protector that I ordered. No one's perfect.
I did a quick research on screen protectors and found that there are two different types: 1)Crystal clear and 2) Anti-glare (which are a bit cloudy. I wanted the crystal clear protectors. I found three different reviews on screen protectors. These are the three that made my list. All have to be ordered since none are sold in the local stores. Wonder why?
- Write Shield C2 Premium Screen Protector Kit - $26.95 plus shipping. This one seems to be the most durable and also ultra clear. You get two screen protectors, some screen cleaner, a brush, and a soft cloth. Should have this in my little hands by Wednesday and can tell you what I think.
- Brando Workshop Ultra Clear Protector Plus Screen protector - Lower in cost, but I think this gives you only one screen protector.
- BoxWave Clea Touch Crystal Screen Protector. Think you only get one with this, but can't recall for sure. It is also cheaper than the C2.
If the Dell screen protector arrives before the C2 does, I'll go ahead and use that so that I can start configuring my X51v. Otherwise, I am on pins and needles waiting for one to arrive.
Don't know why I decided on the C2. Maybe it is because of the other things that you receive in the kit. I'll let you know how I like the C2 if you like.
Hope this helps
