Yes their are updated versions of explorer, PPC2003SE and PPC2005 have updated explorer versions.

BUT.

You cannot upgrade the version of explorer in an X5 above PPC2003.

Explorer is an integral part of the operating system and cannot be upgraded unless you can upgrade the complete ROM.

ROM A05 - PPC2003 was the last version launched by Dell for the X5 and as ROM's are device specific, you are stuck with the version of explorer that you have.

Unfortunately PDA operating systems are not like PC's wher you can install newer programs.
