The only thing I've done with the tools is create a little "Hello World" app. I've had my Axim for less than a week, so I'm just starting to play. I downloaded the eMbedded Visual Tools, which included the C++ and eMbedded VB tools. I had to do a seperate install for the Pocket PC SDK, which I found on disk2 (when you execute the download EXE, it creates two subfolders: disk1 and disk2).
When I created my little APP, I ran it using emulator that's part of the development environment. Did not export it to my Axim.
It certainly appears that everything you need to develop Pocket PC applications is there. Whether the Axim is fully supported or not, I won't know for a few days. I did not see support for the Intel xScale processor. Just SH3, MIPS, and ARM.
