Hi all,
I'm fairly new to the world of PDA software development. My challenge has been to create a hand-held inventory program, this involves extracting legacy data from an Oracle database, creating an Access DB which is synched with it's opposite number on the PPC. This db on the PDA may then be updated and, upon docking, any changes will automatically be transferred to the desktop PC.
I'm running Activesync 3.8.0 and it seems to be configured correctly as any changes to the desktop db are automatically spotted and Activesync updates the PocketPC db. The application on the PDA (a Dell Axim X5 running PPC 2003) is written in eVB for PPC 2002 with the relevant 2003 runtimes installed, there doesn't seem to be any problems with the program which includes a function (thankyou dEVBuzz.com!) to commit the data to the db after each update. But, for some reason the desktop db remains unchanged!
To the best of my knowledge the partnership is configured correctly (I'm using a USB connection to a Dell Lattitude D800 Laptop) and the files to be synchronised are in the correct directories on the PDA and on the Desktop. The connection was extablished by using the "import database" option in Activesync which appeared to work correctly. All help files/forum posts which I have read seem to suggest that the answer lies with Activesync, apparantly by selecting "options", and ticking the box alongside PocketAccess to ensure that all PocketAccess db's are auomatically synchronised, unfortunately, there is no box next to the PocketAccess Option!!
Are there any security settings which do not allow external data? Is there a later version of Activesync available?
I would appreciate a response from anyone who has ever encountered anything similar.
Bob
