Although I have owned my current Axim 5 since May 2003, I only have really started to explore the world of PDAs. So, here goes my story. I hope that someone else has had this issue and can help resolve it. Microsoft's website for trouble shooting didn't help, and Dell's tech support only made the matter more confusing. So, here is the situation.
-Three days ago, I successfully upgraded the ROM from A00 to the most current that I could find at Dell's website at A04 (05200300EN).
-Prior to the ROM upgrade, hot synching between my desktop and Axim 5 worked without any problems.
-After upgrading the ROM, however, the hot sync worked only some of the times. Attempting to restore the full restore of my PDA, however, always lost connection before the full restore occurred, so, I ended up re-loading all the software again the long way.
-Believing that a ROM upgrade may require me to update to Active Sync 3.7.1 from 3.5, I did so but still had marginal success with hot synching.
-Now, I cannot establish contact between the desktop and Axim 5 PDA. The Active sync software states "No Partnership" and soft reset of the Axim 5 and reload of the Active Sync 3.7.1 has not resolved the issue. Please help!! Any and all logical ideas would be helpful! Thanks in advance for the assistance.
