I had this exact same problem. Are you running any sort of a task manager program? The x in the windows mobile operating system dosnt actually close programs, it just minizes them. You can go to the settings memory running programs to close them, but I would recomend getting a task manager to do it easier. You can find tons of them on freewareppc.com so you can decide which you like best. I'm not exactly sure if this is your problem but on my device the word completion was one of the first things to cut out when I did not have enough program memory so it may work for you.
