whats bis?
all of my apps are on my sd card but I have the cheapest axim ever made (x5 300mhz) and I like to save all I can. The icons still take a quite a while to load and Id like to just turn them off. I dont know if anyone else remembers this thing I am talking about, maybe I am just going crazy.

BIS - Built-in Storage
Meaning you don't want any of the Icons to load in the programs folder? That's simple, copy the\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder to your SD card, then delete all the files in the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder. When you launch the folder, there will be nothing in it, and thus nothing to load.
If this sounds drastic, I have 2 other suggestions:
1. Install one of the more widely known Overclocking utilities (
Pocket Hack Master or
XCPUScalar) to increase the processor and memory speed of your Axim.
2. Set Glyph Cache to 16384 using the free
RegKing utility. This increases the speed at which WM renders graphics.
I too run into the same situation that you're describing, but only when I set my processor (400 MHz) speed to 200 MHz and below. This decreases the speed at which graphics are renderes, and the icons you speak of are graphics. This didn't start happening until I my Programs folder started getting larger, as WM had to render more icons.
