I found the answer to my own problem. Back when I installed my Visor software, I didn't install Outlook then either. I found just a hint of an answer somewhere else on the web and I went back to my CD for my Handspring Visor and found a program called Pocketmirror. I installed it and it sync'd my Handspring to outlook on my desktop. Then I connected my X5 and the Activesync took over and sync'd everything to my X5. Voila, it worked and I have all my data without having to type anything in.
