My Dell Axim X3i came with a nice cradle but it's bulky and has two cables, a power cable and a usb cable. I searched to find some other solution to use at the office because I didn't want to buy another cradle. I found the Boxwave Site and was introduced to the MiniSync system. I picked up the Mini Sync, the Car Charger and the Wall Charger. With shipping it was a little over $50. I received the products in a timely manner via federal express and the package was put together nicely. Each product was individually wrapped and the instructions included were very helpful.
The day after I received the products I packed them into my backpack and headed to work to test them. I plugged the cigarette lighter adapter into the car socket and plugged the usb side of the mini sync into it and the other end into my X3i, the charging light immediately illuminated and I knew I was in business. By the time I was at work, the unit was at 100% so it went from an 82% charge to 100% in under 20 minutes. Once I got to work, I installed activesync onto my office computer and then plugged the minisync into the desktop and the other end into the x3i. Activesync popped up and asked me if I wanted to create an association or just be a guest. I chose guest because we use Lotus Notes here and not Outlook. I went through explorer and browsed my device, then installed a few software titles to make sure all was well and noticed it was just as speedy as the cradle. Meanwhile, I noted that the amber light is on and my device is getting a steady stream of power while being connected.
The size of this device is amazing, you really must appreciate having this functionality in such a small package. The cords retract into the middle of the unit and can expand to about 4 feet. The connections are snug and designed perfectly for the Axim, plus they have versions for almost any device you can think of! The price cannot be beat either. Having the wall adapter and car adapter for those times when i'm not in the office and need a charge are very helpful too.
