Hello,
I'm having quite a difficult time setting up my Axim to connect to the internet. Wireless internet was a major factor in my decision to purchase this item, but Dell doesn't seem to want to support this feature for some reason. I have spoken to Dell's customer service department several times over the past few days, and no one there seems to have any idea what's going on. I've been promised several return calls about the issue, but no one has called back as of yet. So now I'm turning to the message boards in hopes someone here has had a similar problem, and can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong. Im using a Dell Axim A5, ROM version A05 with a Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF wireless card. I'm connecting to my AOL DSL connection through a Actiontec wireless router. The router's encryption is turned off, and I've checked that the SSID is correct. The Axim can send and recieve e-mail through inbox, and I can connect to my AOL e-mail, and AIM through AOL 2.0 for Pocket PC. However whenever I try to connect to the internet, explorer does nothing for about 30 seconds, then I get the message that the website you are trying to access cannot be found. I'm running Pocket PC 2003. Ive tried shutting off encryption on my router, but that did not resolve the issue. Also, it does not seem to be a problem with AOL 2.0, because I tried to connect using a Targus 56.6k CF modem, and it worked flawlessly. Any ideas would be greatly appreaciated. BTW, I have also tried to use Microsoft's Pocket PC Connection wizzard, but it does not run on PPC 2003.
